1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
¼ tsp. salt
dash pepper
1 cup milk
6 large red potatoes
16 oz. bag frozen peas

Melt butter or margarine in a heavy saucepan. Blend in flour, salt, and pepper. Add milk all at once. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens. Cook and stir 2 minutes more.

Peal potatoes and boil in water until you can pierce easily with a fork. Drain and rinse in cool water. Cut potatoes into 1” cubes. Rinse frozen peas until they stop sticking together. Add peas and potatoes to white sauce, stirring to warm peas.
